IBIS Archive transfers clips automatically, manually
The IBIS Archive is a PC-based application that allows users to transfer clips automatically or manually from a server system to an archive, using a standard IBIS Windows GUI.
The application uses the IBIS ServerBase Media Asset Management database to track material sent to archive, including its associated metadata.
Upon transfer, the details of the tape number and location of the material on that tape are logged in the IBIS Archive database. This information can be queried using comprehensive metadata search tools to make retrieval of the physical storage medium a straightforward task.
IBIS Archive interfaces to both VTR and Sony XDCAM to provide an efficient means of transferring material to a useful physical storage medium, such as Beta SP or XDCAM disc.
