ICI Foundation offers AV industry scholarships
The International Communications Industries Foundation is accepting applications for post-secondary education scholarships to high school seniors and college students interested in pursuing careers in the AV industry. To be eligible for these $1200 scholarships, students should be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development and information technology. The foundation will also offer $1500 post-secondary education scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are employees of Infocomm member companies or dependents of employees. The application deadline is May 1.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to learn more about the audiovisual industry to see if the field is right for them. A free online course, Quick Start to the AV Industry, is available to applicants, students, teachers and parents so they can learn more about the careers the industry has to offer. Both the class and the scholarship application are available at the Infocomm International Web site at www.infocomm.org.
