The FCC will hold an Indian Telecommunications Initiatives (ITI) Regional Workshop and Roundtable in San Diego later this month to focus on broadband deployment as well as radio and television development in Indian Country.
At the July 27-28 meeting, panels will cover a variety of aspects related to broadband deployment and provide a special focus on wireless broadband, including infrastructure development, business planning and spectrum acquisition.
The FCC’s ITI program is intended to promote understanding, cooperation and trust among tribes and tribal organizations, the FCC, other governmental agencies and the telecommunications industry.
The San Diego meeting is being held in cooperation with the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association (SCTCA) Tribal Digital Village, the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), and the Center for Native American Public Radio (CNAPR).
