Japanese broadcasters to build 1968ft tower as part of digital conversion

published Japanese broadcasters in Tokyo plan to build a new 1968ft radio and TV transmission tower by 2010, according to a report from the Kyodo news agency. Japan Broadcasting (NHK) and five commercial television broadcasters are responsible for the undertaking.
The tower, dubbed the New Tokyo Tower, will be almost double the height of the Tokyo Tower and 154ft taller than the CN Tower in Toronto, according to the report.
