MiTV turns to TANDBERG Television for Windows Media Video 9 encoding
TANDBERG Television is supplying its EN5920 encoders and nCompass control and monitoring system to enable low bandwidth, broadcast-quality video delivery over MiTV’s IPTV network.
Malaysian pay-TV platform MiTV has chosen TANDBERG Television to provide advanced video encoding and control systems for this summer’s full commercial roll out of a multi-channel IPTV service with more than 50 live and on-demand channels planned.
MiTV has chosen the TANDBERG Television professional hardware encoding solution for Windows Media Video 9. As part of the contract, TANDBERG Television will provide its EN5920 encoders and nCompass control and monitoring system to enable low bandwidth, broadcast-quality video delivery over MiTV’s IPTV network, which uses a combination of Internet Protocol and UHF transmission technologies and infrastructures.
The TANDBERG EN5920 supports the Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile codec, enabling IPTV operators to offer live, broadcast television programming at lower data rates while maintaining broadcast-quality pictures.
