MSRC hears report on media, public safety initiatives in several states

published The FCC’s Media Security and Reliability Council (MSRC) met March 10 and heard a report from the Local Coordination Working Group on local media and public safety initiatives taking place in Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
At the meeting, the last under MSRC’s current charter, the Toolkit Working Group also presented its draft Local Market Cooperative Emergency Response Plan.
Under this charter, MSRC’s work over the past two years included:
- local television station model vulnerability assessment checklist
- local radio station model vulnerability assessment checklist
- local cable system model vulnerability assessment checklist
- direct broadcast satellite system model vulnerability assessment checklist
- guide to establishing local coordination of emergency communication systems
- local television station model disaster recovery plan and incident response manual
- local radio station model disaster recovery plan and incident response manual
- local cable system model disaster recovery plan and incident response manual
- direct broadcast satellite system model disaster recovery plan and incident response manual
- local market cooperative emergency response plan.
