NEP to install Calrec Alpha consoles in two mobile trucks
NEP Broadcasting has purchased two 72-fader Alpha digital audio consoles from UK-based manufacturer Calrec Audio. The consoles are slated for installation in the broadcaster’s SS25 and ND3HD mobile trucks, giving NEP a total of four. The new units will provide broadcasting services primarily for NEP network clients producing golf, auto-racing, and NFL games.
NEP notes that its purchase decision was based on reliability, sound quality, and ease of use. Every Calrec digital console is assignable, enabling direct access to the majority of its functions and minimizing screen usage. In addition, many of the panels between its Sigma and Alpha consoles are interchangeable, making complex mobile broadcasting operations much simpler.
NEP is Calrec's largest single customer in the United States. In addition to the four Alphas, NEP owns one Sigma digital console, one C2 analog console, six S2 analog consoles, five Q2 analog consoles, and one T Series digitally controlled analog console. Five of NEP's eight HD units and 11 of its 18 SD units have Calrec consoles installed.
