New WSWS-TV tower collapses; no one injured
By TVTechnology
published A new 1766ft tower being erected near Cusseta, GA, for WSWS-TV collapsed Feb. 27. No one was injured.
The collapse of the tower, which was being built for WSWS serving the communities Opelink, Auburn and Columbus, GA, delays plans to improve service. The new transmission structure was scheduled to go active in May.
Doty-Moore Tower Service and Stainless LLC were contracted to build the tower for Richland Towers. The companies are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collapse.
