Nucomm unveils CamPac 2 COFDM camera-back transmitter
Nucomm has introduced the CamPac 2, the next generation COFDM camera-back transmitters, designed to deliver HD or SD video for ENG or sports coverage.
With on-board triple-pass MPEG-2 encoding and software upgradeability to MPEG-4 AVC H.264, the CamPac 2 assists operations intending to migrate to MPEG-4 to do so when they are ready.
Designed in a rugged, machined housing, the CamPac 2 is available in the 1.99GHz to 2.7GHz and 6.4GHz to 7.1GHz bands. It operates with DVB-T compliant modulation in 6MHz, 7MHz and 8MHz channels. The product also supports COFDM operation in channel bandwidths from 4MHz to 24MHz. RF output power is programmable from 10mW to 200mW.
CamPac 2 accepts a variety of video formats, including SDI, component, composite and DVB-ASI for repeating applications. For HD applications, it supports 720P and 1080i encoding in either 4:2:0 or 4:2:2. The product also offers SD outputs for PAL and NTSC with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 MPEG-2 encoding.
