Pixelmetrix updates DVStation monitoring platform

Version 4.9 of DVStation core software adds new features to the Pixelmetrix broadcast monitoring platform.

The new Satellite Line Interface (SLF) monitors multi-standard digital satellite transmissions. With an RF frequency range from 950MHz to 2150MHz it supports DC-II, DVB-S QPSK, Turbo QPSK and Turbo modulations.

The video thumbnail window now displays the contents of the active format descriptor (AFD), if present. The AFD, defined in ETSI TR 101 154, is an optional bit of user data that may be added to an MPEG-2 video elementary stream, and carries information about how the video image is to be scaled, from 16:9 to 4:3 or vice versa. It is intended to use where there are compatibility problems between the format used for the transmission of a program and the format of the target receiver population.

The DVStation Web Interface now supports uploading transport streams to the DVStation for playback and analysis.
