Renegade Labs Blue 328 digital audio mixer now shipping
Having gained pre-release credibility as Broadcast Engineering’s Pick Hit award winner at the 2005 IBC trade show, the Blue 328 mixer from Renegade Labs is now shipping. By combining a full feature set and simplicity of operation in a small footprint, the Blue 328 is a natural fit for Avid suites, remote trucks, telecine suites, and master control rooms.
Within a footprint of only one square foot, the Blue 328 incorporates eight program and eight monitor buses, allowing the editor to mix 16 channels at once via eight stereo faders. Up to 32 input channels can be accepted in a variety of formats, and the intelligent interface design reduces the keystrokes needed for common tasks. A built-in monitor matrix allows for any output channel to be routed to any or all monitor channels; eliminating the need for a stand-alone monitor router. Audio specifications are uncompromising, handling sample rates of 48- to 192kHz accommodated.
The mixer is self-contained, including eight-each of AES discrete inputs, AES discrete program outputs and analog monitor outputs. According to Renegade Labs, the Blue 328 ships ready to operate right out of the box, with no separate electronics to install, in keeping with its space-efficient design.
