Revolabs, a recently formed wireless development company based in Massachusetts, announced the launch of its Solo suite of secure wireless conferencing systems at the recent NSCA Expo in Las Vegas. Featuring transmitter form factor and full frequency automation, the Solo Executive and Solo Desktop systems combine optimized voice audio quality, full duplex operation and proprietary 128-bit digital encryption.
The Solo transmitter is a lightweight, silver tube that clips onto the clothing, much in the manner of a lavalier mic. It turns itself on when removed from its charging stand, finds an open frequency, and is ready to go. The only user control is a mute button on the transmitter. The Solo system operates as a traditional audio front end. The Solo Desktop is an 8-channel conference system, while the Solo Executive is a single-channel unit designed for individual office telephony use. Three Desktop units can be combined for 24 total simultaneous channels.
The Revolabs Solo systems operate in the 1.9GHZ range via a spread spectrum scheme, and are engineered to deliver high-fidelity audio in the speech intelligibility range, with a specified frequency response of 200- to 8000Hz. The rack-mountable receiver unit provides a separate output for each channel, maximizing compatibility with whatever audio system is already in place.
