Shure products dominate CMA Awards telecast
The 41st Annual Country Music Awards, broadcast live on ABC, were staged at the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN. The trio Rascal Flatts opened and closed the show with live performances, winning their fifth consecutive Vocal Group of the Year Award along the way. Appropriately, the band played “Still Feels good,” the title track from their latest album, in opening the show. Academy-Award winning actor Jamie Foxx joined the group for the closing number, with all vocalists using Shure UHF-R/58 wireless microphones.
“Shure products were integral to the sound of the show, with 16 out of 21 performers who chose Shure as their lead vocal mics,” said Michael Davis, production mixer for the show.
Other Shure endorsers who performed throughout the evening included LeAnn Rimes (UR2/KSM9), Little Big Town (UR2/SM58), Josh Turner (UR2/KSM9), Alison Krauss and Union Station (UR2/KSM9), Miranda Lambert (UR2/SM58) and Martina McBride (SM58). Several other artists used Shure microphones for their performances as well, including The Eagles, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Big & Rich, Rodney Atkins and Keith Urban.
The wireless systems were provided by ATK Audiotek, while Soundcheck Nashville provided backline gear and some additional Shure wireless guitar systems.
