Solid State Logic (SSL) has announced a surging demand for its C Series digital consoles. In particular, the rapid pace of installations has continued through the acclaimed C100 console’s recent evolution to the C100 HD and C100 HD-S, along with the addition of version 4.0 software and the Centuri HD-S processor.
The company recently announced several major sales and installations of the C100 HD. The Versus network, a U.S. cable outlet of the NHL and other sporting events including the Tour de France, the America’s Cup, the Boston Marathon and Davis Cup, is installing a C124 HD into its new Stamford, CT-based studio facility.
Washington, D.C., public broadcaster WETA recently installed a C132 HD with SSL’s MORSE (Modular Resource Sharing Engine) system for its upcoming transition to broadcast “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” in HD. Meanwhile, Boston-based WGBH, producer of more PBS primetime programming than any other station, has installed a C200 console for WGBH Radio.
Systems designer and integrator TV Magic is handling two SSL HD installs. Iowa Public Television, a statewide public broadcasting network, has ordered two C100 HD consoles for its auditorium, theater and main production control rooms. Meanwhile, in New York, a C148 HD is being placed into Christian broadcaster Trinity Broadcast Network’s recently constructed facility.
Other recent high-profile clients include Nashville’s Great American Country, the exclusive TV home to the Grand Ole Opry; and the Madison Square Garden (MSG) Network, metropolitan New York’s sports broadcaster.
