Strategy & Technology has demonstrated example EPG and digital teletext applications in Chinese running on an MHEG-5 receiver using the company’s RedKey MHEG-5 engine. The demonstration uses the traditional Chinese character set, but can also support simplified Chinese. The receiver is a reference design provided by 27M.
The support of additional fonts is enabled by new font rendering technology developed by S&T within the RedKey product. This enables use of international fonts to supplement the Tiresias font used for Latin character set markets.
