TV phone sales to soar
TV phone sales revenue will soar from $5 billion in 2006 to more than $30 billion by 2010, according to a recently released report from Strategy Analytics.
According to Neil Mawston, author of "TV Phones: Integration and Power Improvements Needed to Reach 100 Million Sales," Western Europe, North America and China will be the hot spots for global volume growth of the next few years. Western Europe will see more than 1 million units sold this year, with sales ramping up in North America and China in 2007, he said.
In terms of the relevance to the ENG market, early product developments are illustrating a broad demand for TV-out capability, where the handset becomes a pocket server that will have wired connectivity.
