VDS debuted DiReCT (Digital Resource Cataloging and Transfer), a system for the Evertz 9625 and 9725 logo and media insertion products, at NAB 2007. The 9625 models may be used for basic logo insertion, including static and animated logos, time and temperature insertion and text crawls. The 9725 series allows for multilayer keying (overlapping logos), larger animated video files, more text crawl effects and sophisticated features for graphic intensive TV production.
DiReCT, a VDS suite of applications that manages digital assets in a multichannel broadcast cable operation from the point of ingestion through playout, provides Evertz customers with a mechanism for assets to be automatically transferred to the Evertz edge-branding devices for timely playout by the station automation system. DiReCT manages video assets such as animations, bugs, templates and text as well as audio assets such as voice-overs and tags.
