WJW-TV adds JVC GY-HD250U ProHD cameras
WJW-TV, the FOX owned and operated station in Cleveland, has purchased JVC’s GY-HD250U ProHD cameras to complement the existing production of its local newscasts in full HD.
The station also uses JVC encoders and decoders for coverage from its HD helicopter. In December 2004, WJW-TV became the third TV station in the country to produce all daily local newscasts in HD.
Initially, the station purchased the GY-HD250U cameras for live remote beauty shots, said WJW-TV VP of engineering Tom Creter. Based on their performance, the station began using the JVC ProHD cameras in its newsroom for live flash applications, he said.
