WSKG selects SignaSys to integrate automation
WSKG, one of Central New York’s PBS Member Stations, has selected SignaSys as its systems integrator for the turnkey integration of the second phase of its digital facility upgrade program. SignaSys, based in San Jose, CA, is a broadcast and new media systems integration and consulting firm.
SignaSys is adding a new automation system, a digital server, near line storage, a digital test and reference system, as well as a router expansion. The new systems integrate with the existing digital master control environment of phase one, which included multi-channel digital routing and encoding subsystems that were designed, engineered, installed, and integrated by SignaSys in mid-2004.
Phase two, more specifically, incorporates a Crispin automation system to ingest and prepare media, as well as to control the play out of multiple channels from the two-tiered storage system. The latter includes 3.25TB of near-line access in conjunction with 550 hours of SD online capacity on an Omneon Spectrum video server.
