XVD unveils TX100 codec for newsgathering

The new XVD TX100 codec weighs less than 1lb.
The new XVD TX100 is a micro-sized codec system, weighing less than 1lb, with a 5-watt power consumption from AC /DC sources.
The TX100 provides NTSC and PAL composite or S-video input with 10/100 Ethernet output for LAN or Internet links. It encodes video under 1Mb/s for half D1 resolution and under 300Kb/s for one-quarter D1 resolution without motion artifacts.
The TX100 product currently is being used in Japan at NHK. It is supporting a new NHK series of reality programming.
