NAB 2016: HDR and the Future of Cinema

LAS VEGAS—In the last few years there have been a number of technological advances in the way that movies and presented to theatergoers. High frame rate, 3D were some of the more recent examples, but haven't quite been the revolution that many thought they could have been initially. Now, high dynamic range (HDR) is the new buzz word, and if the discussion at Saturday's "Future of Cinema Conference" during the 2016 NAB Show, it may prove to be an advancement that sticks.
