(click thumbnail)RF Central, a Vitec Group company, will introduce its new RFX-PMR-II portable digital receiver at the NAB Show. Available in both SD and full HD configuration, the rugged unit supports portable links for easy setup for ENG and field applications. In addition, the unit is weather resistant for broadcasts during adverse climate conditions.
Accommodating FCC channel plans in conjunction with the BAS Relocation Project, the PMR-II features manual or pre-set channels with tuning in 0.25 MHz steps. The unit is capable of receiving frequencies between 1.990 and 2.500 GHz. When configured for HD, the PMR-II supports 1080i and 720p formats in addition to SD modes. Demodulation modes include QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM with auto detection.
“Today’s broadcast industry calls for products that offer rugged durability and extreme portability, both of which are featured within the PMR-II,” said RF Central CEO Jeff Winemiller.
The PMR-II is available at a very critical time, Winemiller said. “With many stations still in the midst of completing BAS relocation, the PMR-II is a receiver that meets today’s SD criteria, while also providing a clear path for migration to full HD whenever the customer is ready.”
The PMR-II’s MSRP is $29,650 and is upgradeable to HD for an additional charge of $6,000.
